KATHMANDU: Anil Kumar Jha-led Federal Sadbhawana Party and Sarita Giri-led Nepal Sadbhawana Party have merged.
Jha and Giri issued a joint press statement today and informed that the new party will be named Nepal Sadbhawana Party and use the flag of formerly Giri-led party.
Whereas Jha will lead the party as the Chairman, Giri will be the Co-Chairperson, according to them.
The parties have informed the Election Commission about the unity today and submitted documents of the unified party.
Despite the unity, their strength in the Constituent Assembly has remained intact as only Jha's party had a member in the constitution-writing body.
