Stating that the ruling-coalition is not ready to establish federalism in the country reflecting the sentiments of the Madhesh-movement sentiment, Madheshi intellectuals and youth-leaders have called for the need of protest for the same.
Speaking at an event organised by 'Swabhimaan Madhesh Bichar Samuha' at the capital on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, the participants said that they have reached a conclusion that federalism will not be established in the country without protests.
At the interaction, Madheshi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) youth leader and lawmaker Abhishek Pratap Shah, accused the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) of trying to undo the agreements made during the Madhesh movement.
He said, "There is no alternative to an agitation, also, in order to implement the agreements made in the past."
Likewise, Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party central committee member Suresh Mandal said the coalition-partners are 'arrogantly' pushing the people's expectation away, and disregarding UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesh based parties.
Madheshi intellectual Jay Nishant at the interaction said the Madheshi parties, at first, must try to solve issues pertaining to federalism through dialogue, at least till January 22, before launching protests.
Likewise, advocate and activist Deependra Jha said that of the four disputed contents of news constitution, only federalism related issues need to be sorted now, for which pressure must be created from the streets.
He pointed the possibility of maximum damage that can be caused during protests in Madhesh owing to a strategic mobilisation of security forces in Madhesh at present.
Similarly, at the event, Madheshi intellectual Tula Narayan Saha stressed on the need for Madheshi politicians to strengthen their work-direction along with protests.
Saha said the Madhesh-based parties must not join the government at any cost, and must be cautious about the possible challenges that can arise in future.-Source:Dalan nepal
