In the Maoist Central Committee meeting, which started today, to discuss the party's strategy following the formation of Proposal Drafting Committee, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal pointed out the need for street agitation, saying the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML by design tried to corner the Maoist party from the constitution-drafting process.
Today's meeting concluded that there the CA has lost its significance as the ruling parties ignored the culture of consensus and forced the majority-oriented process to decide crucial issues of new statute.
The opposition alliance led by the party has already announced to launch a phase-wise agitation protesting the Proposal Drafting Committee purported to deal with the key issues of new constitution that Constitutional-Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee, led by Maoist leader Baburam Bhattarai, failed to resolve.
