Aamir Khan defended his violent remark about the AIB Roast controversy by saying that his reaction was more emotional than moralistic. According to MumbaiMirror.com, he says that although he respects the freedom of speech and expression, he does not like individuals who haven't signed up for it being targeted. He elaborated with examples like Farida Jalal, Reema Lagoo and another young girl whom he has known since she was a kid and loves dearly.
Aamir went on to describe how this girl became the butt of several racist and sexist jokes and couldn’t even protect herself as she wasn’t aware that a live audience was watching this. This girl’s insult was unfair and led to his use of the term “violent”. He also added that while movies depicting violence are fictional, this young girl is a real person being attacked. Aamir feels that an attack like this is equivalent to physical violence and when people ask him to “shut up”, they can’t exactly be the voice of the free speech movement themselves. He also added that he does not have an issue with the use of expletives or adult jokes in adult movies like Delhi Belly or if two consenting adults decide to insult each other. Aamir went on to defend his PK nudity by saying that the character is from an alien race and it isn’t vulgar as that is how we all were born.
